How many employees do you have & how many shifts do you run?
AMS, Inc. currently employs over 110 full time employees running around the clock on 3 shifts.

What materials do you work with?
AMS, Inc. has worked in most metals. We've extensive experience working with stainless and nickel alloys, as well as traditional ferrous and non-ferrous grades. Aluminum, brass, and steel (forgings & castings) currently make up about 50% of production.

What tolerances do you work to?
.0005 is not uncommon and .001 is typical. Closer tolerances might require outside grinding operations.

What size parts do you deal with?
Small to medium. Most of the parts we manufacture can be held in one hand. The addition of the Toyoda FA 450's allow us to work on components up to about 2 Feet cubed. Our larger turning centers can turn up to a 16" diameter by 40" long.

What size runs do you deal with?
Due to the high concentration of CNC machines we are obviously more geared towards repeating parts as set up is factored into production costs. Medium to larger runs are preferred, but we also do very small jobs depending on the situation and the customer.

Do you fabricate? Heat Treat? Etc.?
We provide a completed product. We either handle these special processes ourselves or we have vendors with approved inspection systems that we have developed a close relationship with since our founding in 1980.

Who are some of your customers?
We work with leading OEM manufacturers. As we would with you, we try to respect our customers confidentiality for many reasons. As we develop a working relationship we can be more forthcoming on specifics. We welcome the opportunity to show you our facilities and demonstrate the kind of work we do.

Do you have a rate card or hourly rate?
No. We work on a firm fixed quote basis.

What kind of turnaround can we expect?
We run on a just-in-time basis. Time considerations will be addressed during the quoting process as this information changes according to machine availability.

Where is Jefferson Wisconsin?
Jefferson is located in southeastern Wisconsin. It is about a half hour east of Madison, 45 minutes west of Milwaukee and about 2 hours north of Chicago. We have our own trucks and do some of our own shipping.
